Nature of the information on this site and terms of use

The content on this site is for general information only and does not constitute legal advice. The nature of the content, how an attorney–client relationship is formed and the terms of use of the site are explained below.

Last Updated: August 2026

This website has been prepared to provide general information about the professional activities of Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan and about various areas of law. The articles, explanations, sector and practice area content, legal assessments and other materials on the website are for information purposes only.

No information on the site should, on its own, be regarded as a legal opinion, legal advice, an undertaking or an assurance of a particular outcome given in respect of a specific person, company, dispute or legal transaction.

1. Purpose of Information and Advertising Ban

This website has been prepared taking into account the Attorneyship Law No. 1136 (Avukatlık Kanunu), the Professional Rules of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (Türkiye Barolar Birliği Meslek Kuralları), the rules on the advertising ban for lawyers and other relevant professional regulations.

The content on the site is not intended to market legal services commercially, to promise any particular success or outcome, to make comparisons with other lawyers or law firms, or to obtain work unfairly.

The practice area and sector headings used on the site are included to provide general information about legal issues that may arise in those areas. These descriptions should not be interpreted as a statement of formal specialisation in any area or as an assurance of outcome.

The resolution of legal disputes depends on the specific facts of each case. Two different cases considered under the same legal topic may lead to different legal outcomes because of the parties’ positions, contract terms, dates, evidence, the applicable legislation and court decisions.

For this reason, the information on the website should not be applied directly to a specific case.

The following content on the site:

  • Legal articles,
  • Practice area descriptions,
  • Sector-specific assessments,
  • Explanations of legislation,
  • Question-and-answer content,
  • General information on legal concepts

does not replace a legal opinion (hukuki mütalaa) specific to a person or a case.

Before a legal step is taken, or before an existing step is abandoned, the specific case needs to be assessed separately.

3. When Is a Lawyer–Client Relationship Established?

Visiting this website, reading its content or sending a message to Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan through the website does not, on its own, create a lawyer–client relationship.

Likewise, sending information about a legal problem by telephone, email, contact form or other digital means of communication does not, on its own, mean that a legal services relationship has been established.

A legal services relationship can be established once the scope of the work has been assessed, the necessary checks have been made and the parties have agreed on the provision of the relevant legal service.

4. Information Sent via the Contact Form

People who make contact through the website are advised not to send special categories of personal data (özel nitelikli kişisel veriler) or extensive case documents in their first message, unless this is necessary.

In particular, the following:

  • Turkish identity number (T.C. kimlik numarası),
  • Images of identity cards or passports,
  • Health documents,
  • Bank or credit card details,
  • Extensive personal data belonging to third parties,
  • Confidential documents not yet needed for the legal process

should not be attached to the first message.

If documents need to be shared so that a legal matter can be assessed, a suitable method of communication can be agreed separately.

5. Conflict of Interest Check

A request for legal assistance made by a person through the website, by email or by other means of communication does not mean that the matter has been accepted.

Before legal services are provided, professional obligations and possible conflicts of interest regarding current or previous matters may be assessed where considered necessary.

Until this check has been completed, information should not be shared on the assumption that the legal matter will definitely be accepted.

6. Currency of the Content

Legislation, secondary regulations, administrative practice and court decisions may change over time. For this reason, the fact that content published on the website was accurate when it was prepared does not mean that the same information will remain valid unchanged in the future.

Although care is taken to prepare the content accurately and clearly, it is not warranted that all the information on the website is always complete, free of errors or reflects the most up-to-date legal position.

Especially on topics where legislation has changed recently or where settled practice has not yet developed, the current rules should be checked separately.

7. Actions Taken on the Basis of the Content

The consequences of legal, commercial or personal actions taken, or not taken, on the basis of the general information on the website may vary depending on the specific facts of the case.

For this reason, the site content should not be used on its own as a decision-making tool without a legal assessment specific to the person.

To the extent that liability can be limited by law, Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan cannot be held liable for consequences that may arise from applying the general information content on the website directly to a specific case.

8. References to Legislation and Court Decisions

The site may refer to laws, regulations, court decisions, administrative rules or other legal sources.

These references are intended to inform readers about the legal framework of a topic. Citing only a particular article of a piece of legislation does not mean that all the legislation or case law (içtihat) that may apply to the topic is fully set out on the site.

When a specific legal assessment is made, the legislation in force and the relevant recent decisions must be examined separately.

9. Notice Regarding Sector-Specific Content

The website may include legal content relating to IT, energy, real estate, automotive, healthcare, heavy industry, ports, mining and other sectors.

This content has been prepared to explain the general framework of legal issues that may arise in those sectors. Because each company’s business model, contracts, regulatory obligations and commercial relationships are different, sector-specific content should not be regarded as automatically applicable to a particular business.

10. Content on Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies

The legal rules on rapidly developing technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, smart contracts, cyber security and digital platforms are constantly changing.

The assessments on the site in these areas may be prepared in light of the legal and technological developments at the date of their publication. New legislation, administrative decisions or technological developments may change the scope of a previously published assessment.

Therefore, content relating to new technologies and digital business models in particular should not be used as a substitute for an up-to-date legal review.

For the user’s convenience, the website may include links to the websites of official bodies, sources of legislation or third parties.

The presence of these links does not mean that the website concerned or its content is approved, endorsed or continuously monitored by Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan.

The content, security, privacy practices and currency of third-party websites are the responsibility of their respective owners.

12. Technical Use of the Website

It cannot be warranted that the website will operate without interruption or error, or always in the same way on all devices and browsers.

The site may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, hosting infrastructure, internet connectivity, third-party service providers or technical reasons beyond control.

Unlawful use of the site, interference that may damage its technical infrastructure, attempts at unauthorised access and the unlawful collection of content by automated systems are prohibited.

13. Intellectual Property Rights

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the intellectual and industrial property rights in the following original content on the website:

  • Legal texts,
  • Articles,
  • Sector and practice area descriptions,
  • Graphic and design elements,
  • Logo and brand elements,
  • Photographs and visual works,
  • Other content specific to the site

belong to the relevant right holder.

Except for uses permitted by the applicable legislation, this content may not, without prior permission, be reproduced for commercial purposes, republished, modified, systematically used on another website or copied in order to build a content database.

14. Use with Attribution

In limited quotations made to the extent permitted by law, the meaning of the content must not be altered and the source must be properly cited.

Citing the source does not automatically mean that permission is given to republish all the content of the website on another website or to use it commercially.

15. Use of the Logo, Name and Corporate Identity

The name “Av. Ezgi Çalışkan” (Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan), the site logo and the corporate identity elements specific to the website may not be used unlawfully for advertising, redirection, commercial promotion, creating fake profiles or giving the impression that third parties are connected with Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan.

All relevant legal rights are reserved with respect to unauthorised or misleading use.

16. Social Media and Third-Party Platforms

Unless expressly stated otherwise, content shared on social media or digital platform accounts used on behalf of Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan is also for general information.

The nature, security and confidentiality of messages sent via social media may depend on the technical features of the platform used. For this reason, it is advisable not to send sensitive legal documents or special categories of personal data via social media messages.

17. Protection of Personal Data

Detailed information on the personal data that may be processed while the website is being used is set out in the KVKK Privacy Notice (KVKK Aydınlatma Metni), KVKK being the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698.

If cookies and similar technologies are used, detailed information about them may also be provided separately in the Cookie Policy.

18. Security of Electronic Communication

By its nature, absolute security cannot be warranted for communication by email and over the internet. Technical problems, sending to the wrong recipient, malware, account security breaches or unlawful interference by third parties may pose risks to electronic communication.

For this reason, a suitable method of communication may be agreed before documents requiring a high level of confidentiality in particular are sent.

19. Content Provided in Other Languages

Some content on the website may be translated into other languages. If a difference in interpretation arises between a translated text and the Turkish content, the Turkish text may be taken as the basis unless expressly stated otherwise.

It should also be borne in mind that legal concepts may have different meanings in different legal systems.

This Legal Notice may be updated as legislation, the rules of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, the technical structure of the website or the content provided change.

The current text applies from the date on which it is published on the website.

21. Conclusion

The main purpose of this website is to provide clear, general information about areas of law and the legal issues that may arise in various sectors. However, the law does not consist of standard answers that can be applied independently of the details of a specific case.

As Attorney Ezgi Çalışkan, I wish to emphasise that the content published on this site is for general information only, and that any assessment of a particular legal dispute, contract or transaction must be made separately after examining the specific circumstances of the case, the legislation in force and the available documents.

This English text is provided for information. In case of any discrepancy, the Turkish version prevails.
